Writing Website Content for Search EnginesGetting your website onto search engines is not a costly, superhuman feat. New HVTC member Jonathan James will speak on how to get your website in Google's top ten for relevent keyword searches without any financial investment. His website windandsky.com, has long been in Google's top ten for the relevant keyword searches "Astrology Book Reviews," "Woodstock Astrology," "Natal Astrology" and "Jonathan James." Good content writing and a little patience are the main ingredients for consistent, steady top ranked sites. Other tricks include a judicious submission to the Open Directory Project and a rich web of linked pages within a single domain. Search engines rely on words, not pictures, to rank your site. Please bring a pad of paper, a pen and possibly a pocket dictionary — and be ready to think and be creative! Jonathan James, raised in Maine by a newspaper family, just opened a studio-office in Woodstock, called Bluebird Artworks, for his web & graphic design — as well for photography, art and hats. There will be opportunity for networking, questions and answers before and after the presentation, and light snacks will be served. Admission is free for members of Hudson Valley Technology and Commerce ; $5 for non-members. Admission is waived for those who become new HVT&C members ($25/yr. for individuals, $50 for small businesses) at this meeting, or who bring a person who joins at this meeting. The meeting is sponsored
