Hudson Valley Technology & Commerce
HVT&C's MISSION STATEMENT: HVT&C
is a non-profit membership business association whose
mission is to facilitate the emergence of the mid-Hudson
Valley as a nationally competitive high-tech corridor.
In the interest of maintaining a high quality of life
for all residents, this will be accomplished by promoting
IT business and employment opportunities, by fostering
the creation of a balanced and sustainable economy,
and through linking individual professionals, businesses,
schools, other non-profit groups, and governmental agencies.
HVT&C seeks to contribute on many levels to a regional
economic environment that supports the planned growth
of information and new technology sectors.
GENERAL
GOALS:
1. To create for all residents:
* more I.T./new technology employment
opportunities
* improved, sustainable and
"green" quality of life
* a nationally competitive I.T.
corridor here
2. To be a catalyst for:
* a favorable I.T. business
environment here
* identifying the resources
necessary to support a high-tech corridor here
* attracting capital here
* positive governmental action
related to our local I.T. sector
* attracting more I.T. workers
and companies into this area
IMMEDIATE DELIVERABLES:
1. To become the local I.T. sector's visible and active
business association entity, representing the membership's
needs;
2. To have monthly networking opportunities, speaker
venues and special events which promote the HVT&C mission;
3. To disseminate general information relevant to the
HVTC mission and membership needs;
4. To join with other Valley-wide initiatives relevant
to membership goals;
5. To be a gate-keeper for funding, training and networking
opportunities, etc., relevant to our membership;
6. To maintain an interactive website that will act
as a regional I.T. "service center";
7. To advocate before local governmental entities, etc.,
on behalf of the membership's needs and aspirations.
